Looking for lunch on Northeastern’s Boston campus can be a difficult decision, if only because there are so many options. Curry Student Center offers plenty of options, and Huntington Avenue includes many more, from sit-down restaurants to fast food chains to local haunts.

If you’re vegan, or simply looking to shift your diet, Northeastern has plenty for you, too. Finding the best places that have vegan options comes with experience, but this list lays out all the best spots to grab a plant-based meal.

B.GOOD

Located conveniently below the Marino Recreation Center, B.GOOD is a Massachusetts restaurant chain that offers Beyond Burgers and other plant-based dishes.

B.GOOD has fresh ingredients and offers nearly just as many vegan options as non-vegan ones. You can’t go wrong with a Beyond Burger, but you can also order buffalo cauliflower wings, bowls or a Chipotle Veggie Burger.

Boston Shawarma

Boston Shawarma is on Huntington Avenue, almost directly across from the center of campus. This is not an exclusively vegan restaurant – of course, shawarma is a method of cooking, cutting and serving meat – but it offers some of the best falafel or veggie wraps you will find in all of Boston.

Mediterranean cuisine is often vegan-friendly, and that’s what you find here: stuffed grape leaves, falafel and tabouli, among much more. Another big plus about Boston Shawarma is the portion sizes. You can order a full plate or a single wrap.

Amelia’s Taqueria

Amelia’s Taqueria is another not-exclusively vegan restaurant, but the front window boasts plenty of vegan options. Make your own burrito with black beans, pinto beans, rice and delicious fresh vegetables.

Energize

Energize is just around the corner on Mass Ave. This Boston-based restaurant offers a wide array of smoothie bowls, salads, acai bowls and juices. This is an excellent place to pop in before or after a workout, or for a boost ahead of a long night of studying for finals. This place has one of the most vegan-friendly menus you will find.

Mumbai Spice

Mumbai Spice is arguably the best Indian restaurant near Northeastern. It offers Mumbai street food and many other traditional Indian dishes. It is known well for being vegetarian-friendly, but most options on the menu could easily be ordered vegan.
